and asks her Just one Question…

What inspired you to blog about food?”

Food is quite literally my life.

I was lucky enough to be raised on a farm where we grew sheep, cattle and grain. We had what felt like the worlds largest vegetable garden. Of course I took all of this for granted – surely this was how everyone lived.

It wasn’t until I started really cooking and experimenting with flavours and dishes that my appreciation for good products and kitchen gadgets became borderline obsessive.

Mother nature is totally awe inspiring and what man produces with these amazing products is nothing short of astounding.

I love jars, tins and packets of “stuff”. I purchase mystery products daily and then work out what to do with them and how we can apply them in our kitchen. I buy herbs and vegetables in place of flowers.

Kitchen gadgets are taking over my house. A claypot here a spring onion splitter there – just a gradual life long obsession with how people prepare food and why different cultures use different equipment. I love it.

My blogging is an outlet and a way of sharing the secrets and discoveries I pick up along the way. I hope to develop www.foodingredientsandkitchengadgetry.com into a reference for enthusiatic cooks and chefs to share what they too have discovered while out and about travelling the globe. It is a google search, a book raid and a series of questions to who ever will take the time to answer and share their knowledge – one day I hope it will be our own cookapedia.

In the meantime to twitter and blog with others who share the same crazy food obsession is a hoot.

Sally Lynch has been in the Food “game” for 25 years. She has cooked for the rich and famous and  people down on their luck. One thing she has discovered is that our love for good tasty food transcends social and economic barriers – everyone loves it, eats it, talks it  and has a great memory about it!

Originally from Melbourne Sally has ran restaurants, cafes and even a home delivery meal service. Each business exploring  different ways of providing food to the hungry hoards.

Taste Trekkers is Sally’s latest business which is based in inner Brisbane. Taste Trekkers is a Food experience hub. A small cooking school specialising in hands on cooking classes based at her home and a range of foodie Treks. The treks include Asian Shopping Tours, Gourmet Food Tours, and Food Focused treks to Vietnam & Spain or Fabulous  food & wine weekends away in Byron Bay, Stradbroke Island or the Sunshine Coast.

Sally has all of her obsessions rolled into one with Taste Trekkers. Disovering new ingredients and cooking gadgets is her all consuming hobby.  Sally is able to indulge all of this through her food treks. It all sounds like a bit of a tasty good time.
