The Story Behind the Magic…

Boon is Sydney’s newest boutique chocolate salon, created by brother and sister team Alex and Fanny Chan. Together, Fanny and Alex have brought ‘the chocolate experience’ to the inner city hub of Darlinghurst. An unrelenting passion for quality, rich flavours and creativity manifests throughout the store and in the brand’s philosophy to deliver something different and distinct from the current stable of chocolate shops.

Having experienced several years under the wing of Belgian master chocolatier ~ Patrick Mertens of Boon (Belgium), Fanny is dedicated to hand made artistry. Boon blends classic European flavours with a bold and exciting fusion of Australian flavours.

Alex brings over 10 years experience as a food technologist to Boon.  All the chocolates are blended in-house using only natural ingredients without any preservative or artificial flavouring.

Boon (Sydney) has a strong alliance with their sister company Boon (Belgium), the place were the Boon philosophy was first conceived. Though they work as separate entities, they regularly liaise with one another to share knowledge and ideas. They are bound by the same philosophy and culture.

Boon is a boutique brand yet so much more than a chocolate shop. They see themselves as being an integral part of the local community with a high sense of social relevance and value. Passionate about what they do, Alex and Fanny have created a social experience at Boon.

“We notice many customers coming in and just sitting quietly in The Boon Terrace Lounge absorbing their surrounding and just losing themselves,”

“It’s like watching them experience their own little world, we love being a part of their everyday lives” says Alex

Fanny and Alex’s passion, vision and commitment has translated into a formal partnership with Opportunity International in an effort to serve third world countries, something that they both feel strongly about.

This will be an intimate evening with a difference where your chocolate experience will change lives.
