What exactly are we talking about when we say “chocolate dip magic?” Is it a hot sauce that is drizzled over ice cream like a hot fudge sundae so that the ice cream begins to pool and melt into a warm sweet pool of deliciousness? The type of sauce I’m referring to in this post is in fact the exact opposite. Though still incredibly delicious, it has the beguiling ability to go on liquid and then within a few seconds harden into a crisp chocolate shell.

When I was a kid I thought Chocolate Dip of the hardening variety was magic so have aptly named it here as so. The wizardry behind it is  very simple, but the effect none the less still manages to amaze and delight. This homemade version takes only minutes to make, uses only 3 ingredients and is a much healthier version than anything that you might find prepackaged in the supermarket. How to make Choc Dip Magic

1 1/4 cups of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of solid coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Melt the chocolate and coconut oil on high in the microwave for 1 minute.

Stir briefly and then add the vanilla extract. Microwave for a further 1 minute.

Stir again and allow the mixture to sit for 2 minutes. Stir once more until smooth.

The chocolate dip is ready to now be poured over ice cream. It can be stored in the fridge until you need it again.

I suggest you use a squeeze bottle for storage and microwave for 30 seconds at a time until it softens and turns to liquid each time you want to use it.
